Intermediate/advanced dance is a performance class that deals with four areas of dance performance. Students develop technique levels in ballet, jazz, and modern dance. Students study the components of choreography (the making of dances) and learn pieces choreographed by the teacher and the class for performance. Students will participate in stage performances of dance pieces and in video dance pieces. Students explore the process of dance critique through discussion and written work and will be required to attend two dance performances during the year. This class may be taken for either physical education or fine arts credit. (May not be offered every year.)
