This is an individualized program emphasizing programming with JAVA or C++ computer language, and computer literacy topics. Students completing the course will be able to plan and complete structured programs, understand the principles of data storage and manipulation, and continue to look at the implications of computer use, computer literacy, and "computer ethics" in society. Students will also learn to use telecommunications for electronic mail, information access, and use of distant computers. JAVA students who complete this course may take the AP exam.

Prerequisites: 1 year of programming or permission of instructor. Open to students 15 and older.
This course, sponsored by the Cisco Corporation, will prepare students to enter the world of computer network design and construction through study of theory and hands-on practice. Students will receive a CCNA certificate from CISCO upon completion of each semester. When 2 years are completed, students may take the industry examination to become a certified network technician.
